ABOUT ALEX RUDIN

Alex Rudin’s work strives to create moments of complexity and ambiguity by combining both figurative and abstract representations of human expression. She maintains a strict focus on facial expression and hand gesture and allows her subjects to straddle the world of subconscious through a web of external reality. As an artist, she peers into the moment when subconscious thought breaks through to conscious reality – of interior purety amid exterior chaos. Her paintings reflect an irrefutable flash of honesty underneath societal pressures — exposing the mask we wear in public, while revealing the unfiltered emotional breakthrough that is, in fact, reality. Alex graduated from Parsons New School for Design in 2017 and has shown her work in New York City, Brooklyn, Great Neck, and Philadelphia.
